Veterans are invited to a Veterans Workshop Event from 3-5 p.m. on Wednesday, July 16, at the Legislative District Office, 4132 Jackie Road SE. Rio Rancho, NM 87124
Representatives from the New Mexico Department of Veterans’ Services will be present to assist eligible Veterans and unmarried widows/widowers applying for property tax waivers, exemptions, and the NM State Park Lifetime Veteran Pass. Certified Veterans Service Officers will be on-site to assist with VA benefits claims and help with questions regarding VA healthcare eligibility and enrollment, disability compensation, and state benefits assistance.
Additionally, Sen. Craig Brandt, Rep. Catherine Cullen, and Rep. Alan Martinez, whose Legislative District Office is holding the event, will be on hand to talk with attendees. Snacks will also be provided.

Documents needed to verify eligibility:
- A copy of DD-214, NA 13038, NOAA Form 56-16, or PHS Form 1867
- VA Award Letter showing the percentage of disability and any other VA correspondence related to claiming benefits.
- NM Driver’s License, ID, voter registration card, or the most recent NM Personal Income Tax Return.
- Widow/Widower copy of marriage and death certificates.
