Claim your Property Tax Exemption and Benefits at the Operation Veterans Wellness Event

The New Mexico Department of Veterans’ Services (NMDVS) will be in Gallup on Friday, July 18th, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Gallup Sports Complex, 925 Park Ave, Gallup, NM 87301.

State Benefits personnel will be ready to assist eligible Veterans and unmarried widows/widowers applying for property tax waivers, exemptions, and the NM State Park Lifetime Veteran Pass. Our Certified Veterans Service Officers will be on-site to assist with VA benefits claims and help with questions regarding VA healthcare eligibility and enrollment, disability compensation, and state benefits assistance.

Documents needed to verify eligibility:

  • A copy of DD-214, NA 13038, NOAA Form 56-16, or PHS Form 1867
  • VA Award Letter showing the percentage of disability and any other VA correspondence related to claiming benefits.
  • NM Driver’s License, ID, voter registration card, or the most recent NM Personal Income Tax Return.
  • Widow/Widower copy of marriage and death certificates.
