The New Mexico Department of Veterans’ Services (NMDVS) would like to reassure Veterans, families, and community partners that state-administered Veterans’ benefits and services will not be affected by the current federal government shutdown.

All NMDVS offices remain open except for the NMDVS office located inside the Veterans Affairs Regional Office (VARO) in Albuquerque.  Those personnel will relocate temporarily to our Albuquerque office at 4801 Indian School Rd. NE Albuquerque, NM 87110, to continue to provide service to our veterans.

While certain VA and other federally funded programs or services may experience delays, closures, or limitations due to the shutdown, NMDVS continues to work closely with federal partners to monitor the situation and provide support to New Mexico’s Veteran community. For more information on VA services impacted, visit: https://department.va.gov/contingency-planning/

The Department remains steadfast in its mission to honor the service of New Mexico’s Veterans by providing the highest quality programs, services, and advocacy—regardless of federal circumstances. All NMDVS programs and services, including assistance with state Veterans’ benefits and VA claims assistance remain available.
