Bernalillo County Veterans Benefits Tax Exemption Events

Claim your Property Tax Exemption and Benefits on Tuesday, April 21st!

The New Mexico Department of Veterans’ Services (NMDVS) will be at three different Bernalillo County locations in Albuquerque from 9 am to 3 pm on Tuesday, April 21st, 2026.

• Alvarado Square, 415 Silver Ave SW, Albuquerque, NM 87102
• Andalucia Shopping Ctr., 5600 Coors Blvd. NW, Albuquerque, NM 87120
• The Shoppes, 6001 San Mateo Blvd., NE, Albuquerque, NM 87109

State Benefits personnel will be ready to assist eligible Veterans and unmarried widows/widowers applying for property tax waivers, exemptions, and the NM State Park Lifetime Veteran Pass.

Documents needed to verify eligibility:

• A copy of DD-214, NA 13038, NOAA Form 56-16, or PHS Form 1867
• VA Award Letter showing the percentage of disability and any other VA correspondence related to claiming benefits.
• NM Driver’s License, ID, voter registration card, or the most recent NM Personal Income Tax Return.
• Widow/Widower copy of marriage and death certificates.
