Public Information Officer
The New Mexico Department of Veterans Services Public Information Officer (PIO)
oversees the dissemination of all non-classified information regarding the department and its mandate to serve New Mexico’s veterans and their families. The PIO reports to the Cabinet Secretary, who reviews and approves material produced by the PIO such as: Media advisories/releases, advertising, speeches, event program agendas, newsletters, the DVS overview packet, the DVS Annual Report, and any other external communication or documents as directed by the Cabinet Secretary.
In addition, the PIO is the primary photographer responsible for the taking still-camera photos at agency events, and serves as the custodian of all Inspection of Public Records Act (IPRA) requests directed towards the department.
