COVID-19 Updates

Effective March 24th, all New Mexico Department of Veterans’ Services field offices will temporarily postpone in-person office visits.

We will be providing benefits assistance via telephone, video conference, and e-mail.  All previously scheduled in-office visits will be rescheduled.  This measure ensures that our agency is doing our part to protect our veteran community during the current public health emergency.

Please call or email your nearest office for assistance.   Please know that we will endeavor to return all calls and emails by the next business day.   A list of our Veteran Service Officers’ phone numbers and email addresses can be found here.   Veterans can also call (505) 383-2400 and leave a message for assistance with federal claims and may also file claims online at www.ebenefits.va.gov.  For assistance with state claims, please call (505) 827-6300 or 1-(866) 433-8387.  For assistance with cemetery or memorial questions, please call (505) 827-6309 or (505) 827-6356.  You may also email any veteran-related inquiry or concern to nmdvs.info@state.nm.us.

As a reminder, all upcoming outreach and community events have been postponed.  However, we can still assist veterans across the state, regardless of area, by telephone, to include filing federal claims.  Please call or email us at the information provided above to receive assistance.

We urge all veterans to avoid social gatherings, wash your hands, and bottom line, stay home.
